Oh I trust you djjmi. And i can belive everything your saying the more i get into this Internet 2. When the Pledge of Allegiance was written the USA was a republic. Now it’s the insurance, corporate, soft-fascist, military, industrial complex. The upper %1 controls %90 of the wealth. We are the livestock, living on a grid that they control. We still have incomes for the same reason farmers feed their livestock, if they didn’t the farmers would start to suffer too. If you squeeze the general population too much the elites won’t make as much money either.

Well, he does have good points to make, and he asserts himself against the bush administration, and he tells it like it is… However, his focus on illegal immigration has gotten to be quite pathetic and annoying.

Not really. Bush is clinical imbecile, but you’ll have to take a 80+ year leap back in history to discover where it all really went wrong. If you’re OK with superficial “normalcy” then you’re right – it was OK 10 years ago, but the truth is – it wasn’t. Not 10 years ago, not 20. And it will only get worse with each passing decade.

the technical term, as i understand it, for our system of government is ‘polyarchy’ which is basically as you described it. and that’s what madison had envisioned and set forth to create, every leader has known this. and overall they’ve been fairly successful although there have been a lot of wins for the public and civil rights, worker’s rights, womens rights, etc.
but it’s still a broken system that is very fragile. and it’s only held together by the HUGE efforts to control popular opinions.
I would appreciate anything you could give me to substantiate that Madison intended for us to have a polyarchy.
Specifically any thing he might have said to imply this.

The rich thrive. The government plays a role in maintaining this, but we use it as a scapegoat. The wealthy promote this. The heads of corporations are no more sympathetic towards the average human than a politician. They make sure you are willing to return to their business, nothing more. Capitalism much promote this, it must promote profit over service. Disproportionate wealth follows, for whatever reason you have come to accept.
